Image
Hi, again fellas! Today I am back with something you are familiar with: books! This week's assignment was to create a wiki page by reviewing our favorite book. You can find more detailed information about my favorite book when you visit the page. The book I have chosen is The Book Thief . Because of the message the writer tries to convey and an interesting way of writing style. There is also a movie adapted from the book. So if you are interested you can also check it out. click for the picture  Here is the link to my book review: http://ourbookreviews.pbworks.com/w/page/132755985/The%20Book%20Thief         I hope you like it!😊 Take care and read a lot of books until we meet again. A NEW WAY OF LEARNING: PODCASTING

Image
Hello,  sporting blood!  I am here again, with such a fun and new topic to me. Podcasting!🤩        ðŸŒ  If you wonder what is podcasting, you can find lots of information about it here .        ðŸŒ Here at the top, there is a podcast that we did with my lifetime fellow GülÅŸah.👯‍♂️ You can find her blog by clicking here .      First, let me talk about the process of podcasting. To be honest, I was little skeptical about podcasting and I didn't really want to create a one. However, when I and GülÅŸah started to record our voices, I realized how fun it is!🌸       As the devices we use are easily accessible, it is so easy to record and post our product. If one website is not working, there are hundreds of other choices to be used. If you like to talk, share your ideas and create something, I can guarantee that you're gonna love it!         As a student, I really find it easy and fun to play with. You can push your creativity limit and even podcast regularly. I will d

THE ERA OF TECHNOLOGY

Image
Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well. 😋 Today I want to talk about my ideas on technology use in EFL classrooms. When I first met with smart boards at high school I was very excited. I thought to myself that we are going to use this technology every time and every day. As a result it is going to be helpful for my needs. Unfortunately as my teachers didn't know how to use those kind of Technologies, we weren't able to use it efficiently.  If we go back to our topic, I want to say that in the 21st century we really need to combine technology and English language together to get the hundred percent effectiveness of it. As we all know from my previous posts, we need; ·         creativity, ·         critical thinking ·           communication ·         collaboration. 🙌 With the help of Technologies, today we can achieve our goals but to do this we need to learn how to use it efficiently. I am very glad that I have a class that teaches me how to

THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF CALL

Image
Hello again, everyone! Today I want to talk about Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). So, what is CALL?  Computer Assisted Language Learning  is the general term for the range of processes and activities that employ computers in the teaching and learning of a new language. For more info click here . Computers firstly were being used in wars but with the innovations in education, there was a need for time saving and creative materials in language teaching. So this is how CALL is developed. Its history is divided into three phases: Behaviouristic CALL Communicative CALL Integrative CALL    In Behavioristic CALL computers were used to be a stimulus for learners' responses. Fill in the blank activities were commonly used. Communicative CALL, on the other hand, provides a communicative environment to make students use the actual language. Lastly, Integrative Phase supports the idea that both general language knowledge and communication should take place

ARE YOU SUITABLE FOR THE 21st CENTURY?

Image
From the very beginning of teaching to current, so many things have changed in education. Previously learning was all about imitating and acquiring what was provided to you but now with the new Technologies and approaches in the 21st-century learners have the control of the content of the lesson and an environment of interaction as well as creativity. The teacher has the role of a guide while the actual doers are the learners. This apparently has a more positive effect than sitting and repeating what the teacher says, right? Now in 21st-century learning, students are excepted to have 4cs: communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. To gain these skills, teachers create an environment for learners where they can communicate with their peers while working on tasks enhancing critical thinking and gain independence. Classes are now learner-centered contrary to other centuries. Now, ask yourselves which one would you prefer: Sitting on a desk for at least
